Mark’s big Apple and smart home article - I know I’ve been linking to Mark Gurman a lot but late summer seems to be a particularly juicy time of year for his rumors. As for the smart home, this article doesn’t really have anything new, but it confirms that the things we’ve been hearing about for months and years have not been abandoned. The smart home cameras and security updates are a part I was particularly happy to hear about.

The Philips Hue Leak - Apple wasn’t the only one with rumors. This week Philips Hue had a big leak of a new hub and all kinds of other updates coming soon mistakenly posted to their website. I am guessing these are coming at IFA, but they might be earlier. Philips Hue’s hub is long overdue for an update if they are looking to expand the platform with more features and capacity. But I don’t get the impression that this hub will be required. I’m sure the existing one you might already have will continue to be supported. I also love the look of their long-rumored video doorbell which surfaced in this as well. Just don’t count on this doorbell to work with Apple Home.
